Webb31 aug. 2016 · The third smallest town in Texas, Quail, is located about 100 miles east of Amarillo at the intersections of Hwy 203 and FM 1574. The town was named because of the abundance of quail in the area. In 1890, the families of brothers W.I. and T.S. Atkinson established their homesteads in Quail and were the first to grow cotton in the area.
