WebJan 2, 2014 · 1 Answer Sorted by: 1 According to the emacs help entry for the shell command, the started shell gets the file ~/.emacs_SHELLNAME or ~/.emacs.d/init_SHELLNAME.sh as first command list (if one of those files exist). Webupdate-search-compile.el includes 2 functions that I had to write to improve the emacs workflow. Both of the functions look recursively on the directory and climb up to find the corresponding file they need.
